We Can Help
How to Enroll

You must qualify for Medicaid mental health benefits from NFBHP. If you are eligible, Medicaid will enroll you without having to do anything. Once you enroll, you will get a packet of information. It will contain the start date of your NFBHP coverage. The packet will also include a member handbook and a listing of our network providers. Enrollment in NFBHP will not affect mental health services that are provided by:

  • Rural Health Clinics
  • Federally Qualified Health Centers
  • MediPass PCPs.

Leaving the NFBHP System

Medicaid will disenroll members from NFBHP if they are no longer eligible. A member is no longer eligible if they:

  • Enroll with a different managed care plan
  • Are admitted to a state mental health hospital
  • Admitted to a nursing home

Your benefits need to be moved to the county linked to your new address. This will help to prevent delays in getting services.

If you move out of an area NFBHP serves

  • And the Department of Children and Families (DCF), Office of Economic Self-sufficiency sets your benefits:
    • Please tell the DCF, Office of Economic Self-sufficiency in your new county. This will be the office linked to your new address.
    • This department will now set your benefits. These include cash and food stamps. These also include Medicaid benefits.
  • Or if the Social Security Administration sets your benefits:
    • Please tell the Social Security Administration in your new county. This will be the office linked to your new address. Please phone 1-800-772-1213.
